Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your SocraChess account (socrachess.ai and the SocraChess apps). The service is run by SOCRACHESS SINGLE MEMBER P.C.

On the website

1. Sign in at socrachess.ai and open My Profile > My Account.
2. Choose Delete Account.
3. Type DELETE, then confirm with your current password, or with Google if you sign in with Google.

Without signing in

Email support@socrachess.ai from the email address of your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm the address belongs to the account and delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner. Use this route too if the website tells you that your account can't be deleted there (for example, accounts with payment records).

What is deleted

Your account will be deleted straight away and cannot be restored. This includes your profile and picture, settings, games, analyses, notes, connected Chess.com and Lichess usernames, lesson and puzzle progress, Socrates conversations, support messages and beta application. You are signed out on every device.

What is kept, and for how long

• Backups: copies inside our encrypted daily backups disappear when those backups expire, within about 31 days.
• Payment and tax records: kept as long as tax law requires, by Paddle and, where we hold them, by us.
• Security logs: kept for the period stated in our Privacy Policy.
• Your reason for leaving, if you give one: kept for up to 12 months, apart from your account and without your name, email address or IP address.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store. Cancel it in your store account first. A subscription bought on the website is cancelled as part of the deletion handled by our support. If you are within 14 days of your first payment, ask for your refund before deleting (Refund Policy).
